Ibrahim Governance Weekend

Ibrahim Governance Weekend (IGW)

The Ibrahim Governance Weekend, or IGW, is the flagship event of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, held every year in a different African country.

This high-level event convenes prominent African political and business leaders, representatives from civil society, multilateral and regional institutions as well as Africa’s major international partners to debate issues of critical importance to Africa.

2024 Ibrahim Governance Weekend

The Mo Ibrahim Foundation was due to hold the 2024 IGW in Lagos, Nigeria from 26-28 April. However, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the event due to insurmountable administrative difficulties.

Our work around the 2024 Ibrahim Forum theme, Financing Africa, will continue and already underpins the strong agenda we have planned for the year ahead.

We look forward to continuing our work with our many stakeholders, and to celebrating with you all at the 2025 IGW next spring.
